Day 1 On to Delhi Fort & Palaces

You will arrive in the evening in New Delhi at Indira Gandhi International Airport. Following customs, immigration formalities and baggage collection, our representative will meet you as you exit the arrivals terminal building and transfer you to your hotel. India's capital and a major gateway to the country; contemporary Delhi is a bustling metropolis, which successfully combines in its fold the ancient and the modern. One of the most historic capitals in the world, Delhi is a treasure trove that reveals the ultimate combination of tradition and trends. Delhi is made up of seven ancient cities, spanning the period from the 11th to 20th centuries. Delhi has seen the rise and fall of many emperors, which have left behind a plethora of monuments that commemorate the grandeur and glory of bygone ages. Very few cities in the world can express such a profusion of architectural styles. Its many-layered existence is tantalizing and can entice the curious traveller into a fascinating journey of discovery. Over night stay at Delhi hotel.

Day 2 Delhi Fort & Palaces

Following a leisurely breakfast, enjoy a combined sightseeing of Old and New Delhi. You will head for a guided city Tours of the Old City of 'Shahjahanabad', founded by one of the greatest Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. Your introduction to the city will be with a visit to Raj Ghat - the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi, arriving at the Red Fort - the magical monument in red sandstone, built at the pinnacle of the Mogul empire. From here proceed in bicycle rickshaws through the bustling streets to Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in Asia built by Shahjahan.
This afternoon, you will proceed to visit New Delhi, which reflects the legacy the British left behind. The Tours to Imperial Delhi will include a visit to the Qutab Minar, the tallest stone tower in India built to establish the might of Islam and onset of Muslim rule in India and Humayun's tomb, the first great example of a new distinctive style, which developed to become the hallmark of the Mughal Dynasty. The Tours also includes a drive past the imposing India Gate (War Memorial Arch), a monument dedicated to the soldiers who lost their lives during World War I, the Parliament building and the Rashtrapathi Bhawan (the President's residence).Over night stay at Delhi hotel.

Day 3 Delhi Fort & Palaces – Jaipur Fort & Palaces

Following a leisurely breakfast, you will travel to Jaipur. On arrival you will check into your hotel. The vibrant capital of Rajasthan renowned for its forts and palaces is popularly known as the 'Pink City' because of the pink-colour buildings in its old city. An ideal base for touring the royal state, the city has the distinction of being the third jewel of India's "Golden Triangle". Its main claim to fame is that it is India's first 'planned' city built by the famous 18th century astronomer King Sawai Jai Singh II.
Jaipur is not only the gateway to the state; it is also the most natural place to begin a discovery of Rajasthan's multifaceted attractions. Its beautiful buildings including the City Palace, Amer Fort, Jal Mahal and the landmark Hawa Mahal are truly worth seeing. Browsing through the markets in Jaipur, where skilled craftsmen display jewellery, paintings, carvings and colourful textiles, is an enjoyable experience for tourists. Over night stay at Jaipur hotel.

Day 4 Jaipur Fort & Palaces - Castle Kalwar Fort & Palaces

This morning, after breakfast, you will proceed on a full day excursion commencing with a photo stop at the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) - a five-storied wonder with a spectacular pyramidal facade and overhanging windows with latticed screens, domes and spires. Continue on drive to the ancient capital of Amer to see the fabulous Amber Fort, situated on a ridge just outside Jaipur city. Maharaja Mansingh, Mughal Emperor Akbar's most successful General, started the construction of Amber Fort in the 17th century. Before the City Palace was constructed in Jaipur, Amber was the seat of power. The fort is surrounded by fortified battlements and overlooks the Moat Lake. Ruins and remains are spread over the Aravalli hills and sprawling crenulated walls lattice the surrounding area. At the foot of the hill you will board jeeps to transfer you up to the main gate. Tours the chambers and hallways of the palace, famous for the excellence of its design and decoration. Within the complex is Ganesh Pol, an imposing gateway painted with the images of the elephant-headed god, Ganesh. The merging of Rajput and Mughal architectural styles is captured in the Sukh Niwas and Jas Mandir apartments, and the Charbagh garden with its perfectly proportioned landscaping. Pierced screen windows offer views from different vantage points and shimmering mirrors encrust the walls of Sheesh Mahal.

Later a photo stop at the Jal Mahal (Water Palace) is a palace located in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake, Founded by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh Jaipur.
Following your visit to Amber, enjoy a Tours of the Pink City, an "abode of rajahs". Day 5 Castle Kalwar Fort & Palaces – Pushkar Fort & Palaces

Following a leisurely breakfast, travel to Pushkar the famous pilgrimage village in India. En route stop in the holy pilgrim city of Ajmer and visit the Dargah of Khawaja Mu’inuddin Chisti. On arrival in Pushkar, you will be check into your hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore the numerous ancient temples in this little picturesque lakeside village, the most famous and unique being the Brahma Temple (only temple in world of Lord Brahma). Over night stay at Pushkar hotel. 

Day 6 Pushkar Fort & Palaces – Bikaner Fort & Palaces

Following a leisurely breakfast, travel to Bikaner enroute visit Karni Mata Temple in Deshnoke, the only temple in India where religious offerings are made to hordes of 
rats who roam freely within the inner sanctum. On arrival Bikaner check into hotel. Later travel to the historical symbol of the city, the magnificent Junagarh fort. Built of red sandstone, the fort boasts of some of the finest sandstone and marble carvings. Admire the skill of the craftsmen as you visit palaces and the halls of audience. Marvel Bikaner’s art of miniature paintings as you visit the Hall of Audience decorated with breathtaking frescoes, gilded stucco mouldings and floral patterns. Over night stay at Bikaner hotel. 

Day 7 Bikaner Fort & Palaces – Jaisalmer Fort & Palaces

Following a leisurely breakfast, travel to Jaisalmer enroute visit Gajner Palace (Gajner is an incomparable Jewel in the Thar. Built by the great Maharaja Ganga Singhji of Bikaner on the embankment of a lake with a generous dose of flora and fauna. It is built by red sand stone & is indeed a fine example of the great Rajasthani architecture. The Gajner Palace is spread over 6000 acres, the palace is a 30-minute drive from Bikaner. Gajner Palace was used as a hunting resort by the maharaja and the family shared their passion with their exclusive guests and hosted exotic holidays for them.

Around the palace is a thick forestation that attracts the guests to take up a simple walk around admiring the migratory birds in winters like imperial sand goose, antelopes, black bucks and the animal species that wander around in the form of Nilgais, chinkaras, deers etc. The hotel is spread in a large area, and the ambiance around is as raw and authentic as it was before).

On arrival Jaisalmer trip to sand dunes & check into Swiss tent. Take camel riding & visit sun set point. Later take dinner with Rajasthani Culture program. Over night stay at Swiss Tent.

Day 8 Jaisalmer Fort & Palaces

Following a leisurely breakfast, travel to Jaisalmer. On arrival Jaisalmer check into your hotel. Visit this perfect Rajput walled desert city which is like a golden jewel shimmering above the hard sand. Visit the palaces, ludrava Jain temples and magnificent Havelis like Patwo ki haveli, Garhisar lake, Nathumal ji ki haveli, Salim Singh ki haveli. Also visit the golden Fort - built in 1156 by Rawal Jaisal, the Jaisalmer Fort is the second oldest fort of Rajasthan after Chittor. One fourth of the population lives inside the Fort. Day 9 Jaisalmer Fort & Palaces – Fort Pokaran – Bhikamkor fort, Osian – Jodhpur Fort & Palaces

Following a leisurely breakfast, travel to Jodhpur capital of Marwar, sprawled around the impressive cliff top Meherangarh Fort en route visit Fort Pokaran Palace (The 14th century citadel also known as “Balagarh” stands as a paragon amidst the Thar Desert. Surrounded with rocky, sandy and five salt ranges, POKARAN means “the place of five mirages”. Fort Pokaran stands on ancient trade route that carried salt, silk and spices to Persia and beyond. Instead of winding caravans of the past, it now has trains, buses and cars. The fort now attracts travellers to stay betwixt the glorious history where each stone speaks out volumes of the past. Pokaran sight seeing venues are skillfully engraved family cenotaphs. A walk through the old bazaar where the potters make the famous terracotta pottery which floods the Delhi markets and weavers weave shawls, blankets and durries (carpets). Pokaran is the abode of hundreds of Damsel Cranes, Houbara Bustard, a rare bird; The Great Indian Bustard, Migratory Bird the Imperial Sand Grouse which takes flight right from Siberia to the desert for food, water and to sun bathe. It is a buzz to watch and photograph the Indian Gazelle; the “Chinkara” (deer) that is the highlight of the jeep safari in dried salt ranges of Pokaran. The place also homes the shrine of the deity Ramdeoji who is considered the reincarnation of Lord Krishna. The fair Ramdeora is named after him, held for ten days according to the lunar calendar in the month of September is a vibrant occasion. People visit it from all religions, caste and creed from all over India who come in colourful outfits to offer prayers.)

Later en route visit Osian, the ancient town of Thar desert, an archaeologists delight, surrounded by golden sand dunes, it has sixteen Brahamanical and Jain temples, beautifully sculpted and designed. Most of them withstood the ravages of time. Sachchiya Mata & Mahaveer Jain temples are the largest among the surviving temples. Continue travel to Jodhpur. On arrival in Jodhpur check into your hotel. Over night stay at Jodhpur hotel.

Day 10 Jodhpur Fort & Palaces – Kumbhalgarh Fort & Palaces

Following a leisurely breakfast, visit the imposing Meherangarh Fort - one of the most impressive & formidable in the whole of fort-studded Rajasthan is situated on a high natural rock bluff and from which you can look down on the wonderful panorama of the bustling city below, Jaswant Thada - the Royal Cenotaphs. Explore the various museums, which house the finest artifacts of the Royal family of Jodhpur Ummed Bhawan. Later trip to Kumbhalgarh Fort & Palace en route enjoying an exceptionally beautiful excursion through the rugged, wooded hills of Rajasthan to the Jain Temples of Ranakpur in the Aravalli Valley. Ranakpur boasts some of the most exquisite Jain temples in the country famous for their intricate friezes and sculptures. It is one of the holiest Jain sites of India. Nestled on the banks of the river Maghai and sequestered by mountains, Ranakpur's beauty is accentuated by its seclusion. The main Chaumukha (four faced) temple was built in 1439 and is dedicated to the first Enlightened One, Adinatha Rishabdeva. An inscription in it traces its origin to the reign of Rana Kumbha. Erected on a raised platform, it is surrounded by 66 subsidiary shrines. It has 1444 beautifully carved pillars, of which no two are alike. Two Jain temples dedicated to Neminath and Parsvanath and a Sun Temple a little distance away are also noteworthy.

Day 12 Sardargarh Fort & Palaces – Udaipur Fort & Palaces

Udaipur, the "City of Lakes" is the capital of the erstwhile kingdom of Mewar, one of the oldest surviving dynasties in the world and was established around 1567 A.D. The history of Mewar is showcased in the city of Udaipur, which is akin to an oasis in the desert state of Rajasthan. It is a rich and beguiling tapestry of lakeside palaces, forts, temples, havelis and gardens, reflecting the varied influences of the centuries. Also referred as the "Venice of the East", Udaipur is located in the Aravalli ranges of the royal state of Rajasthan. Surrounded by ancient mountains and set on the edge of three lakes, it is a beautiful old city with narrow lanes meandering through it. Later Commence your Tours with a visit to the sprawling City Palace which stands on a hill on the banks of Lake Pichola, surrounded by crenulated walls. Built in 1567, it is composed of 4 major palaces and several minor palaces that form a single facade. Its main entrance is through a triple arched gate, the Tripolia, built in 1725. The gate leads to a series of courtyards, corridors and gardens. The impressive complex consists of buildings in granite and marble flanked by octagonal corner towers surmounted by cupolas, with an exterior faced in white plaster. Visit the exotic palaces and pleasure gardens. Continue to Saheliyon-ki-Bari (Garden of the maids of honour), which served as an ornamental pleasure garden for the Royal Ladies of Mewar. The garden has many fountains in its four delightful pools, chiseled kiosks and marble elephants. Later proceed on a trip to the Pilgrimages symbol of the Mewar, the Magnificent Lord Krishna temple which know as Sri Natha ji Temple at Nathdwara. Over night stay at Udaipur hotel.

Following a leisurely breakfast, travel to Chittorgarh Fort & Palace en route visit Sanwariya ji temple, The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna. This is not a very old structure and is an important Hindu pilgrimage centre. On arrival Chittorgarh Fort & Palace visit Chittorgarh fort. Continue travel to Bassi fort & Palace. Day 19 Dholpur Fort & Palaces – Agra Fort & Palaces

Following a leisurely breakfast, you will travel to Agra en route visiting Akbar's abandoned capital, Fatehpur Sikri. Built by Mughal emperor Akbar in 1571 in honour of the Sufi saint, Sheikh Salim Chisti, it was the Mughal capital for 14 years after which it was abandoned due to paucity of water. It is made of red sandstone and combines influences from both Hindu and Mughal architecture. Even to this day, the entrance to the fort is through the road that Akbar built which leads to the Buland Darwaza, a huge 54 metres gateway. Other inspiring monuments in Fatehpur Sikri are the Hiran Minar that Akbar built in memory of his favourite elephant, Tomb of Sheikh Salim Chishti, Birbal's House and the Diwan-i-Khas. On arrival in Agra, you will check into your hotel.
The city of Agra, the quintessence of the grand Mughal era, reigns to this day in the public mind as the embodiment of royal grace, imposing architecture and power. Agra is globally renowned as the city of the Taj Mahal. But this royal Mughal city has, in addition to the legendary Taj, many monuments that epitomize the high point of Mughal architecture. No Tours to India can be complete without paying a visit to this erstwhile capital of the Mughals and the city of the Taj Mahal, the world's most beloved monument. With its laidback lifestyle and its immense wealth of architecture, handicrafts and jewellery, Agra is amongst the most remarkable city of the world.
Later, enjoy a guided Tours of Agra Fort, an outstanding example of Mughal architecture and the seat and the stronghold of the Mughal Empire under successive generations. The present structure owes its origins to Akbar who erected the walls and gates and the first buildings on the eastern banks of Yamuna River. Shah Jehan added the impressive quarters and the mosque while Aurangzeb added the outer ramparts. Visit its Hall of Public Audience and its Royal Pavilions.
Continue travel to one of the seven wonder Taj Mahal (closed on Fridays). Enjoy an exciting rickshaw ride to the gates of the majestic Taj.
Referred to as one of the wonders of the world, the Taj Mahal is the epitome of tourism in India and is celebrated for its architectural magnificence and aesthetic beauty. A symphony in white marble, a tribute to eternal love, it was built by the Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. There are tombs of Mumtaz and Shahjahan within the mausoleum. Done in white marble, it took 22 years and over 20,000 workers and craftsmen to complete this rhapsody in stone (1630-52 AD). The main structure is set amidst landscaped gardens. While on three sides it is surrounded by high walls, the rear is bound by the river Yamuna. Over night stay at Agra hotel.

Day 20 Agra Fort & Palaces – Delhi Fort & Palaces, Return home with happy memories

Akbar started its construction himself, blending Islamic, Hindu, Buddhist, Jain and Christian motifs and styles. The tomb is a splendid example of the combination of Hindu and Muslim architecture and represents Akbar's philosophy and secular outlook.
